“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, ‘For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:35-39
God is DETERMINED!
Determined is defined as – having made a firm decision and being resolved not to change it
I can think of no one more determined than our Lord! He is in hot pursuit of us, each and every one of us! There is not a soul on this earth that He does not care about, that He does not love and that He did not send His Son to die for. Look at that list of what will separate us from the love of God … NOTHING! There is nothing that will ever separate us from His love, however, there is one thing that can separate us from Him … SIN!
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.” – Isaiah 59:1-2
He sent His Son to extend us an invitation to spend eternity with Him. The only stipulation is … we must RSVP! We must acknowledge and place our trust in His Son and everything He is and everything He stands for.
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me’.” – John 14:6
This separation is not something that pleases the Father any more than it pleases us. If this were the case He would have never provided us a way to overcome the sin that has plagued this world since the fall of man. Rid your life of the one thing that separates you from experiencing the relationship He died to give you. Trade your sin for forgiveness and saving grace. God is determined to give you a life full of His peace! What’s stopping you from allowing Him?
