“By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious” – 1 John 3:10
Concerning the people of today, is there an obvious difference between the children of God and the children of the devil? According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word obvious is defined as “easily discovered, seen or understood”. I’m not so sure we are living so distinctly that there is a difference easily seen between the two.
Sure there are some devout Christians, whose love for being in the center of God’s will is very noticeable. We wouldn’t be shocked to hear them reference themselves as a child of the Almighty God. There are also those who are so consumed with darkness we aren’t shocked to hear them say they don’t know the Lord, nor do they care to.
But for the majority of Christians and the majority of non-believers I’m not sure through 1st, 2nd or even 3rd impressions it would be obvious who their Father is. On one hand they demonstrate love and generosity, and on the other their petty, selfishness consumes their ability to choose what that pure and perfect will of God is.
As believers, children of God, may we choose to live as our Father would have us – UNASHAMED OF & OBVIOUSLY IN LOVE WITH HIM!
