God is MAGNETIC!
Magnetic is defined as: possessing an extraordinary power or ability to attract
If we want God to be near to us, we must first seek to be near to Him. God even promises to meet us half way! He promises that as we move towards Him, He will move towards us.
What simple instructions, and yet such a difficult task?! Am I right?
Have you ever tried to force the identical magnetic poles of 2 different magnets together? It’s almost impossible, and if you finally get them together it’s not going to last long. Every magnet has 2 poles, a north pole and a south pole. North poles attract south poles and vice versa. North poles repel north poles and south repels south. This is why God cannot draw near to us unless we draw near to Him.
If we are choosing not to draw near to God, we are saying that we don’t need His help. We are saying we are more than capable of handling things on our own. By making this choice we are placing ourselves on the same level as God. We make ourselves the identical ‘pole’ that God is, therefore making it impossible for us to be near Him.
When we admit who we really are, with out God, and when we confess our worthlessness to Him, when we take our place under His authority, and realize that God is the only One worth drawing near to, then and only then will He begin to move to meet us right where we are.
Oh God, help us to see, I mean really see, our need to draw near to You. You alone possess all we could and will ever need. Lord I pray that You would make the desire of Your children’s heart to be so close to you that when you speak our ears will hear Your words, and we will willing obey. Lord when You move may we move in sync. For it’s in Jesus name we pray … AMEN!
