Father, tonight I come to You and bow before Your throne, in complete awe of Who You are. Knowing who I am and somewhat comprehending the magnitude of Who You are… I cannot understand why You would choose me. Scripture tells me that You don’t need me to perform any good works. You can handle it all on Your own. Creation is proof of that! The beauty that is created with Your spoken words.
No… Lord, You do not need me, but yet You still offer me and anyone else who would choose to, a chance to be a part of the change You are creating here in this world. Oh Father, You have given me so many wonderful and amazing opportunities to serve You and to perform good works in Your glorious name… not by my power or accomplishments… no Lord they were opportunities given by Your gracious hands… Oh God, I thank You for them.
Forgive me for the times I’ve been selfish. For the times I’ve held too tightly to them. Forgive me for the times that I haven’t given them the honor and respect they deserved. Forgive me for the times I’ve quenched Your Spirit, and been a barrier in getting Your message out. I’ve proven myself unworthy so many times Lord, and yet still a chance is offered to me. Why… Lord… do You still call me… why do You still desire to use me? Why do you continue to offer me the chance to see what You can do through my sinful body?
Oh Lord, cleanse me so that You may freely move throughout my entire being. Let no place be off limits to You. I unclench my hands. I release the reigns. I choose to hold on to all that I have with open and lifted hands. My life, my talents (what little there may be), my roles in my life and ministry, my husband, my children, my home, everything that I am and everything I have …. Lord I lay it at Your feet!
I know You will receive it completely. I pray that it will be a worthy sacrifice, and Lord when I fear what the call is costing me… remind me it will be worth it… what lies on the other side will always be worth the journey! You are worth the journey! Let me run it well. I claim every ounce of freedom offered to me at Christ’s cross! For it’s in His name I pray, amen!
