A Place For EVERY Woman

My sisters in the Lord, regardless of where you are on your walk with the Father … There is a place for EVERY woman at the foot of the Cross.

The Letter Q

nail

“But let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.”  1 Peter 3:4

God is QUIET!

Quiet is defined as:  an absence of noise or bustle; silence; calm; still

I find it extremely ironic how incredibly BIG God is and yet how QUIETLY He pursues each and every one of us.  He doesn’t barge into our lives, stating His authority, shouting orders and demanding obedience.  He behaves exactly the opposite!

He remains quiet, on the side lines, waiting for us to call out to Him.  Waiting for us to acknowledge Him.  Waiting for us to invite Him into our lives.  It’s only then that He swiftly moves in and sweeps us up off our feet!  It’s then and only then we are provided with His protection.  His promises.  His perfect Spirit who will lead and guide us to being transformed into His image.

But even then, when we have accepted Him as Lord over our life, it’s still our choice.  He withheld nothing when He purchased us on the cross.  He gave it all!  And guess what … He gave it quietly!

“He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.”  Isaiah 53:7

“And while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously”  1 Peter 2:23

I’ll never understand why we hesitate giving Him our all, and why we fail to remain quiet when this life causes us to sacrifice?

“A true Christian’s chief care lies in the right ordering and commanding of his own spirit. Where the hypocrite’s work ends, there the true Christian’s work begins. The endowments of the inner man are the chief ornaments of a Christian; but especially a composed, calm, and quiet spirit, renders either man or woman beautiful and lovely.” – Matthew Henry Commentary

Oh God … it is my prayer that all of Your children would be seen as beautiful and lovely in Your sight.   That we would follow Christ’s example, even when this christian life costs us dearly.  Lord through Your strength may we obediently follow Your will; quietly and humbly seeking only to glorify and honor Your righteous name.  For it’s in that name … in the name … Jesus … we pray … AMEN!
